Champion Chevrolet has an immediate opening for an Automotive Painter in our Collision Center. This is a full time position, with scheduled hours of Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM.

Responsibilities as a Painter include:

  • Refinishing vehicles to pre-accident condition while maintaining the highest quality workmanship
  • Assembling and disassembling vehicles in preparation for repair and painting
  • Preparing areas for priming, sand, paint, and clear coat; buffing, polishing and inspecting all work for flaws and imperfections in the paint.
  • Utilizing a computerized paint mixing system to match paint/clear coat/primer/sealer by vehicle manufacturer paint code or closest visual match.
  • Checking vehicle damage against the estimate and informing the Estimator of any hidden or additional damage not recorded on the estimate.
  • Properly documenting all work performed on the repair order and providing a detailed description of the work performed.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess I-CAR and ASE certifications
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all aspects of the automotive painting process
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships within the department
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and high school diploma or equivalent

The physical demands of this position require the employee to stand 6-8 hours per shift and lift up to 70 pounds repetitively. The employee will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, paint and cleaning solutions, as well as other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Compensation for this position is based on the flat-rate pay system and the starting rate will depend on a candidate’s relevant knowledge and experience.
